This workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to anthotypes, covering basic techniques and various process variations. Participants will explore creating anthotype emulsions using plants and pigments, each yielding unique prints. The session encourages experimentation, fostering endless creative possibilities. Participants, whether new to anthotypes or experienced, will collaborate to learn and refine their skills. Following preparation of prints, exposure to sunlight will occur. The latter part of the workshop focuses on reflection and evaluation, discussing technical qualities and artistic expression collaboratively. Participants will assess prints, sharing insights on improvement and artistic impact. The session culminates in discussing lessons learned and future experimentation. Attendees are advised to bring a high-contrast photograph or objects for photogram creation.

+ Participants must bring a photograph they want to print. Ideally one of relatively high contrast. If the participant prepare the positive at home they will have more time in the workshop to print. Also: must bring objects for creating a photogram. Ideally flat objects that can fit in a printing frame. If the participants have a specific plant or pigment or dye they would like to try making an emulsion from, they are welcome to bring this too. This is optional. No prior knowledge is necessary, we will work on different levels according to experience.
